Well, it has been some time since my last blog update here, so I apologize. I have been doing some serious training sessions, up to 17 miles inside one practice. I have also had a few races too since my last update. I have run in the Bronx Half Marathon, Snowflake 4-Miler, and the Colon Cancer 15K Challenge. The Bronx Half I ran a solid 1:35:00; not too bad for my first 1/2 Marathon ever. It was a cold and very windy day for a race. The third quarter of the race was over the Grand Concourse of the Bronx (about 2 miles). It is a roughly 9 lane road running north/south in the Bronx. The had the entire road closed off for us, but only let us run in the center 4 or so lanes. The part was just wide open and very windy. It felt like I was running against a wall; absolutely painful. The Snowflake was snowed out last minute and turned into an untimed "Fun Run". I still ran and had a decent time, but it wasn't recorded as official on the NYRR site. As for the 15K, I was slightly less pleased with my time; I pulled in a mildly decent 1:03:00. I'm not entirely sure what happened in that race, but I do know my splits were all over the place. Our coaches have been awesome too. They are so eager to help and give great advise. If we ever have an injury or anything of that nature, they are so knowledgeable, and reliable. The pictures below are of the various races that I did this month and last.
